Not well-up with technology.....was hoping my "Thanks Our Joseph" would have gone onto Joseph's "Welcome Our Irene" message. Not sure what I'm doing yet but will learn. Yes, I am a Wiganer, Tonker! And thanks for your help, Corky.....I'll get there! Certainly seems a friendly site.

You're welcome, Irene.
It is a friendly site and it goes without saying that folk will gladly help you.
There are a few differences in some aspects of the technology.
One you may encounter is 'flood control'
That is where you get a message telling you that your post can't be sent due to a blockage of sorts.
Though that usually only happens when you are very quick and send a post immediately after another one.

Hello Maureen, Tezza, Vincent, Mac, Corky, Our Joseph and anyone I've missed out. I have been trying to get on here for ages but couldn't fathom it! Eventually, a kind person on Wigan World Communicate gave me a link. It feels so warm and welcoming on here. It is taking me a bit of time to get used to it......your replies are coming as notifications that I have to click on to in order to receive them; I thought they would just appear under each other as on Wigan World.....am I doing something wrong? I am not the brightest star in the sky with all this! However, it's lovely to meet you all. x.

You will get used, Irene. It's a lot easier that WW to post images/links.

Are you a quizzer, Irene? Ray does a cracking quiz on a Friday night, and he even posts the winner a £20 note in an envelope to arrive first thing on a Monday morning.

I like quizzes, Mac. However, the last post I have which came on automatically was from Tonker at around 4 o'clock. I have got other kind messages since, but they appear in "Notifications" and I have to click on that to receive them. Is this how replies are received on Wigan Rejects or have I pressed something I shouldn't have? You are all so patient with a novice! x.

Ahhh. That's a setting where you are notified when certain posters of your choice have posted, Irene.
I think it is inteneded for sites with a much larger membership.
We on here see everyone's posts just like WW.
I'm sure I disabled my own notification thing in my settings.
Mrs Admin has probably sorted yours, as mentioned.

Just log onto the site, then scroll through the boards. The rest is much like WW....But better. WR is everything WW would like to be.

And the smiley icons are just above the box you type posts in.
The yellow smiley to the left. Click on that and a drop down menu of other smileys appears.
