In a community fire and ambulance station

A great idea.

Excellent idea fire and paramedics training with each other can only make operations more efficient and run smoothly. Where is it to be I wonder, Southgate?

Hopefully it will be on Southgate. Robin Park road is getting a bit full just now, which is a shame as it would be a better location.

The land to the left (coming from Wigan) of Southgate looks ideal.

Just after the Community Church? (Mitco Peck as was). There is to be a foolishly built retail/business park there I believe

Judging from this, it sounds like it will be built on the old site.

Anyroadup, being in the same building doesn't exactly mean 'joining forces'. You're not going to see ambulancemen putting fires out, are you?

Walsh peeped on here and saw this story, even though it was reported on whingingworld yesterday.

If it's in the Town centre, it could well be where the old Courts were.

Yes, I agree. I also agree with Tonker that the town centre won't be a good wheeze.

Mesnes Park would be handy. And there's an duck pond to get a bit of water from if you're short.

You started it by suggesting the old courts.

It's as good a vacant lot as any in the town centre, unless Brocol house and the old MFI building behind took a demolishing.

And why is Brocol House so named? (I don't know the answer)

Yes, the old courts...Criminal not civil.

And anyway, the Old Courts were also criminal at one time.
