horrible creatures slugs and snails

Tom I agree,they are horrible,last night I walked into the kitchen in my bare feet and trod on one,they seem to come from under the sink but I can't see how they get in..I felt sick and spent ages wiping my foot ..as for your pots would crumbling foil and putting it on top of the soil not deter them..I don't think they'd like slithering over it.

I'll try that maureen, thanks, I did't think they would sliver over a gravel floor but they do, I've tried copper pipes and spreading salt but somehow they always get through,

You want to sack those hedgehogs tom.That's what they are for.

I suppose there's only so much he can eat if there's a lot of them.

He's done well because some years if the snails get in the early growth seeds, they can kill a greenhouse full in one night, I'm just a bit disappointed we didn't get some hoglets, I'm still not sure if i have a boar or a sow, If it is a boar then they will be with thier mum, If its a sow then, the boar that visited in March for those few nights, was a jaffa,

stick some beer traps in there.....

I've tried them in previous years Vixen, they catch the little ones but, the old heads seem to know not to go drinking whist at work,
One year i bought some cheap beer from Bartons, it was crap, So I used it in the beer traps and, NO snails went in the traps, A sure sure sign that, That beer truly was crap if, even a snail would not touch it,
