First topic message reminder :
Posted this before. I never get colds, but several years ago, I got a cold that lasted 5 weeks. When it went I had no sense of smell or taste. Still don't.
I wonder if I had a strain of the virus?
I strongly believe the virus was man made and not from animals.
Scientists said on TV that the virus cannot be transferred from animal to man, then one corrected herself and said, 'Except for the bat that started it.'

I would never believe that someone caught some bats, then transperted then 500 miles to a market only to sell for a pittance so they can buy food. They would have eaten them at home. Animals cannot pass the virus to humans. Except that bat.
The fact we are all animals is but a detail.
I still think it's all hype and an underlying issue is afoot.
As a friend of mine said:
'All these people getting paranoid aboot coronavirus, using antibacterial gel, washing their hands every 3 seconds yet they go oot every weekend, sniff coke cut with god knows what from a filthy rolled up fiver aff the back o a piss stained toilet seat, then go and sit in a grubby kitchen chatting shit aw night to end up shagging some stranger they just met who’s been on a bender aw weekend and still wearing the clothes they went to work in Friday morning, undies looking like well used chamois leather!
f**k off you scruffy feckers, yer immune system could fight aff Tyson Fury, coronavirus wouldn’t touch you, ya bunch of fekin radgepelts'

A friend of ours died yesterday afternoon with the virus, she was taken ill the night before and couldn't breath and was given a tracheotomy in the house then rushed to Wigan infirmary. She had cancer a couple of years ago and her immune system would have been low. Very sad as no one could go with her to see her at the end.

My sympathies, but I would suggest she died with, rather than of, the virus.
Just been visiting an old colleague, he was rushed into Hospital on Friday, he said there was one person in A&E. He was put on the 'Coronavirus ward' where there were two other people. They carried out tests that were unpleasantt, such as pushing a cotton bud as far up his nose as possible, similarly, they pushed one down his throat. Later than night he was told he was clear and was put in another empty ward for a day, then released into the wilds.

I don't know if your colleague was in Wigan Mac, but my brother in law was admitted to RAEI 16 days ago for an unrelated matter. He was put on an assessment ward and tested negative for CV19. Over the next 12 days he was transferred from one ward to 4 others, also spending 2 days in ICU. Over this period he was tested 5 times for CV19, each time negative. On the 13th day he tested positive, there is no doubt in my mind that he contracted the virus while in RAEI. They were considering sending him to Manchester RI for an operation but this can not go ahead while he has the virus. It is a sad state of affairs.

Yes, he was in Wigan, Ktel. Straight into the 'coronavirus ward' where he was tested and remained on the ward until he was told he was fine. But there were two others in there who could have been riddled.
A poor show all round.

A man from York is to receive 100 lashes after failing to clap on his doorstep for the NHS last Thursday.
Tony Squirter who lives in a suburb of South-West York was reported by the newly founded York Gestapo Movement, who are a ruthless organisation employing underhanded and terrorist methods against persons suspected of disloyalty.
SInce the start of the Corona Virus pandemic, is has become fashionable for British citizens to clap on their doorstep to show support for people who work in the national health service.
A spokeswoman for the YGM said "We live in a terraced street and everybody came out last Thursday and did their bit, we had residents clapping, banging pots, letting off fireworks and one fella plugged his electric guitar into an amplifier and played "We Will Rock You" by Queen. We noticed that Bald Tony from number 10 stayed inside his property and appropriate action will be taken"
Mr Squirter, 42 told reporters. "My neighbours have told me that at 8pm next Thursday, I will be tied to a lamp post at the end of my street and will receive 100 lashes on my bare buttocks. This will be filmed by gobshite Karen from number 16 and streamed live on Facebook".
When asked why he didn't clap, Mr Squirter replied "I was tired from a 12 hour shift at the tampax factory where I work, I got home, made myself some turkey dinosaurs, twisted one off the wrist and then drifted off to sleep"
Karl Pineapple-Express, who lives over the road said "I clap every Thursday at 8pm. I don't even know what the letters NHS stand for, but I get proper pissed up and clap like f*ck. Next Thursday I'm gonna pinch an Ice Cream van and blow it up outside my house. Beat that"
Sammie-Jo Redbull, Leader of the YGM said "We are sending a message out that we won't tolerate people who don't clap for the NHS. We are also going to continue filming people who think it's ok to nip to the shops or walk their dogs. Every breath you take and every move you make, every step you take, I'll be watching you. Stay Alert. Control The Virus. Save Lives"
