I had a rant a couple of weeks ago about the price of timber at B+Q, what used to be £2.65 a length , was then £4.98 per length GRRR, I took it on the chin and bought all i needed for my shed refurbish, So this week with the timber cut and in position , I needed some guttering , approaching the entrance there is a pallet of 3x2 timber for sale at £2 per length and a sign saying,
" reduced from £4.60 per length to £2.00 due to water damage, I had a look and the water damage was, they were wet. not damaged at all,

So what I bought for £4.98 is reduced anyway to £4.60 and, I could have used these for my project at £2 a length and they would have been ok,

Yes, for using B&Q in the first place!
Them lengths of 3x2 will look like pig’s dicks when they dry out!

In the 1970s I used to buy second hand wood from Clays DIY at Newtown, where Halford's is now, and a wood place, or should I say a timber merchants, which was on Soho Street, where ASDA is now, I have forgot the name of it.

I think in another topic, someone said that it moved from Soho Street, to where Savoy Timber is now, so Savoy Timber is the same company, but I don't think it was called Savoy Timber back then in the mid 1970s.
