You say "750 years as a borough" as if it's something good.
It should be "750 years of domination and taxation by a local authority".
But, as it happens, it's not true.

Fantastic bit of film, Mrs A.
I liked the bit at the beginning about slaughterhouses mixed in with housing. I remember Scholes was famous for that. I used to go to Smailes and Jimmy Strange's in Scholes and I believe that, back then most butchers shops had a slaughterhouse at the back.
Wasn't there a thread about one at the back of England's in Pem????
I heard that Mac helped found the borough in 1246...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame the Borough spends so much money on Wigan Town Centre, while the outer-lying towns receive meagre fare.
